Water as a Weapon
Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet it is increasingly being used as a tool of war and systemic control. In Palestine, the state of Israel controls almost all water sources, systematically denying Palestinians their fair share while diverting it to illegal settlements. This is Water Apartheid—the intentional deprivation of life-sustaining resources to force submission or displacement.
Global Resource Control
- Privatization of Survival: Across the globe, the 1% are moving to privatize water sources, turning a common good into a tradable commodity. When water becomes a profit center, the poor are left to thirst.
- Infrastructure Destruction: In conflict zones, the targeting of water treatment plants and desalination facilities is a form of ecocide that leads to mass outbreaks of disease and long-term environmental collapse.
- Control of the Global South: Wealthy nations and corporations often control the mineral and agricultural resources of poor countries, leaving the local population in "Survival Mode" while their wealth is exported.
"Whoever controls the water, controls life itself. The struggle for water is the struggle for the very right to exist."
