Environmental Warfare
Ecocide is the systematic destruction of the environment, and it is frequently used as a weapon against occupied peoples. In Palestine, the destruction of olive groves, the contamination of water sources, and the impact of military bombardment are forms of environmental warfare that tie the struggle for human rights to the struggle for the planet.
Climate Justice is Global
- Resource Extraction: The same systems that exploit the Global South for resources are the ones funding military occupations. Profit from destruction is the common thread.
- Military Carbon Footprint: Global militaries are among the world's largest polluters. The carbon cost of war and occupation is a direct threat to the survival of our climate.
- Indigenous Rights: Climate justice is impossible without land rights. Protecting the environment means supporting the indigenous peoples who have lived in harmony with the land for generations.
"There is no climate justice on occupied land. The liberation of the people and the protection of the planet are one and the same struggle."
